Required Courses for Canadian and Foreign Candidates

The CPHR Academic Certificate Program provides the required courses for attaining certification as a CPHR. Each course is authored by a leading Canadian HR academic and taught by a qualified instructor. You may register for only the course(s) you need. A CPHR Academic Program Completion Certificate is provided upon completion of this nine course Program with at least four of the courses taken in this Program; and the remaining courses may be credited through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR), if you have previously taken equivalent courses. Completion of this Program can also qualify you to take the National Knowledge Exam (NKE).

This program is intended for Canadian and Foreign candidates seeking certification for all provinces and territories in Canada except Ontario and Quebec. (*Please see below for a notice regarding certification in your Province.)

All nine courses are offered in each of three semesters per year, beginning in early January, May and September. The duration of classes for each semester is 12 weeks, followed by an exam period. Registration for the Fall 2024 Semester is now closed and registration for the Winter Semester begins on October 16, 2024.

• Create a New Portal Account if You Do Not have One

  It is required in order to access any of the items below and there is no fee for this account. If you have an existing account, please do not create another one, as that would not allow you to access all your information and your courses. There is a link below on this page to retrieve a forgotten username, password and StudentID.

• Register for Courses
  

  Registration requires you to have a portal account (Username and Password).

  The CPHR Academic Program is offered in three semesters each year: Winter, beginnning in early January; Spring, beginning in early May; and Fall; beginning in early September. Registration for each semester is available 2 1/2 months before the semester begins. Registration for the Spring 2024 Semester begins on February 12, 2024.
  
  The tuition fee for each course is $532, including proctoring for the final exam. For more information, click on the View Descriptions and Access Your Courses link above or the Program Home link in the left hand menu. On that site you can see the Important Sessional Dates, including the final exam schedule for the current semester.
  T2202 Tuition and Enrolment Certificates are available for obtaining income tax deductions.
  

• List the Courses in Which You have Registered
  

  New Regstrations may take up to one hout to appear on this list.
  
  

• Retrieve your Receipts for Courses and other Portal Payments
  For all course registrations, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and administrative fees paid through this Portal.

• Display your Completed Course Grades
  For all courses taken in the CPHR Academic Program.

• Obtain your Updated Academic Transcript
  For all courses taken in the program or credited through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).

• Request your CPHR Academic Program Completion Certificate
  If you have completed our Program with at least 4 courses taken within the Program and up to 5 courses credited through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).

• Display Term Grades for your Courses that are Currently in Session
  Includes those grades which have been posted by your instructor.
  

• Obtain Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition
  

  Find out about and register for assessing the courses and programs you have previously completed for equivalency to the required courses the CPHR Academic Program.
  
  

• Retrieve Your Student ID, Username and Password That You Previously Created
  

  Please do not create a new username and password if you already have one, as this will cause problems with registrations, PLAR and Grades. For retrieval, you will need to enter the email address you listed when you registered.
  

*Please contact the CPHR Member Association in the province you reside in for further details regarding specific education requirements and information on CPHR pathways and membership benefits.
